You will be writing three different essays on the SAME topic this week (People can be affected by their environment). You will be trying out different TYPES of essays (expository/persuasive, narrative/descriptive, and process). By practicing these different types of essays, you will be able to determine (with my feedback) which type of essay format you are strongest in...a.k.a., which type you should write next week on your exam.
Today: write an expository or persuasive essay (introduction and outline for the rest of the paragraphs due tomorrow at 12:30pm)
A. Full, COMPLETE introduction.
(- topic sentence - thesis - transitions - succinct summary/hint of supporting points - concluding sentence)
*Try opening with a quotation!*
B. Succinct outline (for all body paragraphs --2 or 3--, and conclusion).
**Your essay should revolve mostly around global/universal application (choose this FIRST) with a brief personal experience/relation/anecdote to begin and/or end your essay. **You may also choose to include a reference to literature, but only if you know it very well.
