--> You will have time in-class TOMORROW to finish your paragraph (due tomorrow at the end of class).

Example:

gentle, innocent, and perfect. For instance, in chapter sixteen, Holden describes the joy he feels when he helps a child tighten her skate. He thinks of "most kids" as "very nice (and) polite", unlike the adults around him that he mistrusts (p. 119).

Using at least two other quotations from the novel, describe and analyze the evolution/change in Gene's character:

"I didn't want to hear any more of it. ... I didn't care because it had nothing to do with me." (p. 143)

Marking Criteria:

- Analysis of Gene's character
- Touch on theme(s)
- Structure
- Introduction, integration, explanation, and citation of quotations
