1. We have now completed all the written portions of your Act I graphic novel, scenes i-iv. You should have your drawings done for these four scenes.
2. Tomorrow in class we will be doing the written portion of Act I sc v.

3. Tonight: read through Act I sc v (p. 27-32) as we will be reading this in class tomorrow (Wednesday).

1. By the end of today's class you should have your rough draft finished and run it by me if necessary.

2. Compare the theories of Freud, Frankl and Golding, in terms of who man really is. Consider Frankl's quote:
"Our generation is realistic, for we have to come to know man as he really is. After all, man is that being who invented the gas chambers of Auschwitz; however he is also that being who entered those gas chambers upright, with the Lord's Prayer or the Shema Yisrael on his lips."
- Frankl believed the individual's greatest struggle was internal, to find his meaning in life.
- Conversely, Freud believed that man's greatest struggle is the conflict between the reality we have created for ourselves and the reality society has created for us.
