2. Complete reading chapter 4, finish questions.
3. Future Essay Prep:
- Choose one of the topics provided yesterday (Artificiality vs. Authenticity OR The American Dream and Reinvention) and write a thesis statement, then, find 5 quotations from chapters 1-4 that support your thesis.
- Thesis examples:
A. Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby is a social commentary about the vapidity of the elite in 1920s America.
B. In Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby, Gatsby's attempt at reinvention to achieve the elusive American Dream proves that one can be ruined by their disillusions.
